I see a lot of confusion around “the grind” and what it really means outside of the gym/working enviroment. Everybody understands that grinding in the gym just means being focused and putting in the work.
But to truly be successful and become the best it has to become a religion. The religion of grind. That is exactly why I always talk about “living the lifestyle”. A religion is something you live and believe in 24 hours a day. And that is what I do.
Sure everybody works hard in the gym and in sessions, but the question is: do you still live “the grind” for the rest of the 20 hours a day?
Here’s an example to help you understand this.
Goal: You want to get to the shop but turns out it’s 5km away and it’s pouring down rain and you don’t have a car.
Real Grinder Person: Because this person actaully lives “the grind” they won’t care about it. Sure it’s not pleasant but who cares. Job has to be done. They put their shoes on and away they go.
“Oh Sure I Grind” Person: This person apparently works hard but when it comes to this they make excuses such as, it’s too far, I will get wet blah blah balh and they obviously don’t go.
Now I’m not pushing anybody to live the grind and outwork their competitors etc if they are happy with their life. But if you’re not, this is the way right here. You have to become religious about hard work.
Thank you very much for reading and hope you can take something away!
